Just a guy who has always tried to do the right thing. I have failed at that several times. But, I keep on trying.
Early Feb 2017 - Diagnosed with Small Cell Lung Cancer. Tumors in Right Lung, Lymph Nodes and below Collar Bone. They did not tell me until after the fact, but they hit me everything they could to try and cure me as it was still curable at this time.
July 2017 - A Brain MRI revealed that I had 2 small tumors in my brain. Once it spreads to the brain there is no cure. Elected to go through 2 weeks of Brain Radiation to knock out the tumors. This was palliative in nature. Losing brain function is not the way to go out.
August 2017 - Pleural Effusion between lung and chest cavity revealed in X-ray. This was drained and tested. It came back as positive for Malignant Small Cell. This will be monitored and drained, as necessary, to provide me with a better quality of life.
All decisions going forward will be balanced between Quality of Life and Time of Life. They are going to recommend more Chemo. Chemo has diminishing returns with Small Cell Cancer. While I went through it, and Radiation together, and handled it extremely well. It does cause extreme fatigue.
