John has not been doing well since Jan./Feb. 2021. He found out that he had neuropathy in his feet. He was finally able to get that under control with medication, but there was something else not right. He has lost a lot of weight since January, been very weak and had some stomach issues on & off. He went to the ER at the end of April where they found some concerning spots on a CT scan. They strongly suspected he had cancer. That was confirmed last week after a colonoscopy and a liver biopsy. He has stage 4 colon cancer. It has spread to his liver and other places in his abdomen. He started chemo on Thursday. He will continue chemo every 2 weeks. Then they will recheck his scans in a couple of months to see how effective the chemo is. We are hoping the chemo will be able to stop the spread and shrink the cancer enough to eventually be able to do surgery to remove it.
