UPDATED 12/2021: Welcome to our CaringBridge page regarding John Nick's kidney transplant journey!
Though it was created with John’s kidney transplant in mind, Bethany Krom is the paired exchange program kidney donor who made it possible for John to receive a kidney, so Bethany and her caregiver husband Robin were invited to become co-authors to share her donation journey along with John’s to make this picture less one-sided! Bethany's own kidney went directly to a man who lives in Vermont, and he has contacted Bethany via email to express his gratitude to her.
Further, we've since connected with John's direct kidney donor, Lisa Wall, who reached out to John over the holidays! Lisa is now following this CaringBridge page...and, as a co-author, is also invited to add any journal entries/gallery photos she may wish to add. Lisa donated her kidney in the paired-exchange program to allow for the child of a friend, Cole, to obtain a kidney when his need is imminent.
We are using CaringBridge to keep family and friends updated in one fell swoop. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting/following!
