John Murray John's Joyful Prayer Team

First post: Dec 28, 2017
Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

My youngest son John (19) suffered a brain injury in the days leading up to Oct 1, 2017.

He was hospitalized and was doing well and due to be discharged October 26th, when his colon pulled away from his abdominal wall and twisted.  He had emergency surgery Oct 25th.  The surgery went well, but John got fluid in his lungs and had to be put on a breathing machine to keep sufficient oxygen in his blood.  John spent almost two weeks in ICU.  He came home on November 6th, but his medicine had stopped working and he had to go back to the ER on November 17th.  He spent 11 more days in the hospital to get his medicine working and was released on November 28th.

John has the "double your fun" challenge of physical recuperation and mental recuperation.  Physically he is cleared for exercise but is still very weak.

John is working hard to improve his stamina, independence, math, reading, writing, speaking, etc.  His goal is to get back to work and school as soon as possible.

But John is still very weak and easily overwhelmed, so he cannot do things as fast or as long as he would like, or reach his goals as fast as he would like.

John knows the power of prayer and appreciates your prayers for total healing of his mind and body.

John would also appreciate any cards or little gifts that might lift his spirits.

John loves visitors!  So don't be strangers!  He might want to watch a G rated movie, or go for a walk, or go disc golfing, or get some fries.

John's Mom would appreciate respite care a couple times a week.  If you are able to commit to 2 hours once or twice a month, that would be incredible!  The calendar shows dates and times, but really any days or times would work.
