The long and short of the story is that after experiencing mild shortness of breath late last winter/early spring, I was diagnosed in September with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. We completed our planned move and retirement to Deland Florida in mid November and have been lucky enough to be working with the Pulmonologists and Transplant team at the Mayo Clinic since November 30th.  They are rated as the #1 Hospital in the US for Pulmonology issues.  I am almost through the very rigorous and thorough evaluation process to see if I will be accepted on the lung transplant list at Mayo, which performed 43 transplants in 2016 and 41 in 2015. My understanding is that their current wait list is roughly 25 people.
