In 2014, John was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer (Pleomorphic Xanthoastrocytoma) at age 16. He underwent a 9 hour surgery and numerous radiation treatments. John stayed strong in his faith in God through this hard time in his life. The past few years, his MRI's have not shown any sign of cancer. Unfortunately his MRI on October 17, 2017, showed the cancer has come back aggressively. John is scheduled for surgery on November 28, 2017 and also will need to undergo chemotherapy treatments.
