Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. Our dad is loved by so many who want to be updated on how he is doing. Please know that we appreciate your love and prayers as we walk through this season.
As many of you know, two years ago dad received the news that he had colon cancer. Unfortunately, the cancer had already spread to his liver and lung. He quickly had surgery to remove as much of the cancer as possible. For the next year he underwent several chemotherapy treatments that were successful for many months. For many who know him, he was extremely brave. He continued to serve and love on those around him. This past spring dad began becoming very weak. He was in and out of the hospital receiving treatments for different illnesses. Because of the weakness, he was unable to continue treatments for the cancer. He has fought so hard, but his body is very tired. This past Friday dad came home and began hospice care.
My siblings and I (Kim) have decided to start this website to let you know how to support mom and dad in the season ahead of us. First, please feel free to leave encouraging notes, Bible verses, and prayers for them to read. Mom will be reading them daily and cannot wait to share your loving comments with dad. Second, please pray for them and our family during this season. This has been such a difficult season, but we have felt the grace of God carrying us through this time. Third, as medical care continues and hospice care begins, there are many expenses.
