John Rafferty Johnny's Journey

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.  My journey started back in early December 2017, when Santa Ana winds began and I could not shake my allergies.  It turned into a cold coming and going  just like everyone was going through. On my second visit to the doctor, she ordered a chest Xray and then it all started.  Final diagnosis Stage 4 lung cancer.  Ana and I quickly became immersed in the cancer world which frankly was never on our radar.  We learned of the latest treatments and found that's what  we were getting - a combination of chemotherapy and immunotherapy.  So I had my first session on Friday and have suffered a few symptoms, but nothing serious and I still have my hair!  I will be going for treatments every 3rd Friday. They will evaluate me after the sixth session to find out if it's working.


I have a large support group of family and friends from one coast to the other.   I feel the prayers you are offering up for me and with God's help, we will get through this.  I really believe that!  Please post a note and we will try to respond
