In October of 2015 Dad had problems with fluid surrounding his lungs. After monthly testing and draining of the fluid and further testing in February of 2016, it was determined that he had mesothelioma which is a cancer in the lining surrounding his lungs. His prognosis was 6 months 2 years if he was lucky. Well... I guess he has some luck of the Irish in him and he is closer to the two year mark! When he was in his mid 20's he worked at a vermiculite factory for three months in the summer. It is there where he was exposed to asbestos and the mesothelioma sat dormant for 50 years. Dad has fought hard the past two years, not letting the cancer hold him back from enjoying time with his family, grandkids and putzing around his house.
