Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.  John, known as Jack to his Wilmington family and friends, was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in November 2016. He was to begin the stem cell transplant at Vanderbilt but became sick with a respiratory illness and Vanderbilt decided not to follow through. He sought a second opinion at M.D Anderson in Houston, Texas on June 27,2017. He had a consult on his birthday, August 22, and was asked to return on September 18th to begin the process. They have arrived in Houston and will be staying in an apartment close to the hospital. Beginning on September 18th, pre-tests will be done to make sure his organs are all functioning well. Once that is complete, the stem cell transplant will begin. Please keep us in your prayers. He is very optimistic and hopeful.
