July 5, 2017 Hi Everybody. Thank you for visiting. This is difficult to write. It has been such a huge change of events but, we are doing well, working hard and aiming for a return to "normal" asap. Late Saturday night, July 1, Johnny experienced a severe episode of back pain. We rushed him to the hospital. By Sunday morning he was unable to move his right leg. After extensive testing it has been determined that there is swelling in Johnny's spine causing numbness in his right leg. We are expecting that the swelling will subside and John will (with time and therapy) regain the use of his leg. Currently the medical staff at St. Luke's is working on finding out what caused the swelling. At this point we still do not know. John is in very good spirits ( he ADORES all the attention). Visiting is welcome. He will be here at St. Luke's for a couple more days. Please call him prior to coming. Some times are better than others for visiting but, generally he is up for it. He has physical therapy and occupational therapy happening here so, of coarse, he will be busy with that. He loves talking on the phone. If he doesn't answer he may be in an appointment or resting. Just try again later or he will call you. After St. Luke's he will be going to rehab, probably Miller Dwan. I will update when I know more about that. In the meantime, please know we are thankful for all your support and prayers. We love you and will be sure to keep in touch. This site is where I will indulge myself to write anything and everything that John wants his circle of family and friends to know. Very warmly, Johnny and T.
