Welcome to our CaringBridge website for John. We (Jane and Grey) are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope, love, and courage. We cannot thank you enough!

Here's a short explanation as to what has happened:

On Tuesday, January 24th, John was involved in an accident at work. While cutting down a tree with his team, they unexpectedly lost control of the tree which fell on John and threw him against the ground. Fortunately, he did not lose consciousness and was responsive to everyone who rushed to help. Upon arrival at the ER, we found out that he had broken his fibula (leg) around his ankle area and burst his L1 vertebrae (part of his spine). We are extremely grateful to say that he has no paralysis caused by this accident. These circumstances could have been so much worse. Luckily, we recently learned that he will not need surgery to fix either break as far as we know. This is a good sign, as it signifies that Dad's injuries, although severe, will be able to heal on their own.

For the next few months, he will be in a leg cast and a back brace. As far as we know, he cannot walk without a walker and/or crutches for the next few months due to the nature of his injuries. Plenty of time for healing and rest.

We will be using CaringBridge as our channel to reach you: our lovely network of caring friends and family. Thank you so much for your prayers, support, and compassion!

Much love,

Grey, Jane, and John
