John Hart

On March 4, 2017 John was brought into the ER as he thought he was suffering from a chest cold and later pneumonia. He was quickly airlifted to Fargo where it was discovered that he was experiencing sudden heart failure. He was then airlifted to the University of Minnesota where he remained in a medically induced coma for 2 weeks until it was decided that a left ventricular assist device was the best option to bridge him to a heart transplant.

John is 5 years post LVAD and has been doing great and feels wonderful. He has been able to lead a full life including having a daughter, Dylan and managing working full time. In the begging of May John began to have electrical issues with his pump. This led to engineers attempting to fix these issues but unfortunately finding that the issue is internal. John is now currently awaiting a heart transplant and is hopeful this occurs prior to anymore equipment failures.
