John was diagnosed with stage 3 pancreaticobiliary ampullary adenocarcinoma - not quite as aggressive as the more common pancreatic adenocarcinoma but uses the same protocols. He amazed the doctors with his strength in recovery from the Whipple surgery which removed the head of the pancreas, gallbladder, the first part of the small intestine, a part of the stomach, and the bile duct.  Welcome to our CaringBridge website.
