John was diagnosed with a rare lung disease in 1998 called Broncholitis Obliterans. For 21 years now, he has been defying all odds set against him and blowing away doctors with how resilient he is. His hard-fought fight hasn't been without its multiple hospital stays, scary bouts of pneumonia, good news, bad news and lots of celebrations and tears. There have been times we weren't sure we'd make it this far. Times we weren't sure we'd have him around as long as we have. While we are so thankful that God has allowed him the length of time that he has, we know that without the next step in this journey, his quality of life will not sustain. We don't know when this will all happen, when he will get the call, or what everything looks like when he does. What we do know is that John is a fighter like no other. He's been knocked down, and gotten back up each time with a will to live like I’ve never seen. We know that this next journey will be a tough one. It will test strength, fight, will to live and endurance. If anyone can do it, it's John. We will use this site to update everyone on the progress of his transplant once we get the call. Please feel free to share this with others as well! I have added in the past updates to keep everyone up to speed on where we are at to this point.
