John Copernoll, is a retired Washington State Ferry Boat Captain and resident of Trilogy in Redmond. He grew up in West Seattle, graduating from WS High School in 1962. On August 24, 2022,  John was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), an aggressive and incurable type of Leukemia.  He is currently undergoing infusion treatments through September 7, then 3 weeks off; another 7 day round starts on September 28. John is not in any pain but is experiencing fatigue and weakness. Although John is stunned by his diagnosis and prognosis and overwhelmed due to receiving a lot of information about treatment and resources, he has a great attitude. He gives God credit for his feeling of calm and peace.
John loves watching the Huskies, Seahawks, and Mariners. He also loves getting phone calls!
John is a beloved brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, cousin, uncle and friend who have all reached out to support John and offer all kinds of help. John is finding out how much everyone appreciates all that he is and all that he has unselfishly given to others.
