Some of you may have heard that John had a stroke this weekend.  At about 2 PM on Saturday he started having weakness in his right arm and Conni, with some help from the internet, recognized it as a stroke.  They drove to the emergency room and eventually ended up in a hospital in Naples, Florida.  It appears as though it was a Hemorrhagic Stroke; which occurs when a blood vessel in your brain leaks or ruptures.  By the time they completed a second CT scan the bleeding had stopped.

Justin visited with him for a few minutes this morning (2.20.17) and he is hopeful today they will be able to move him from ICU to a regular room.  Today he also hopes to start some physical therapy.  He is able to move his right leg and arm, but has significant weakness when they are used with any resistance.  He seems to be in relatively good spirits and would like to get going with the physical therapy, so he can get out of bed.  Conni seems to be doing well and has been helped and encouraged by having John’s brother Paul there to help support and encourage her.  (Paul arrived for a 2 day visit shortly after the symptoms started on Saturday.)

More tests are likely this week.  You can pray for health, encouragement and patience for both John and Conni.
