Dear friends and family. Please feel free to share your thoughts with John.  I will gladly forward any messages to him. Let's make his time count... and yours too.

A poem:

"Still

It’s me that you are struggling to hear
As I fumble for words
and haltingly
Push them towards you, as best I can
Hoping fervently that you’ll be patient,
that you’ll understand…

It’s me that you are struggling to see,
Look beyond the staccato rhythm –
tremors, that rip through me,
cause me to shake

It’s still me, inside
I haven’t changed,
Look past the exterior ,
Look deeper within,
You’ll connect with my soul…

Don’t treat me like I’m dying or even dead,
I’m still here, love me still
As you sit by my side,
Just listen in companionable silence,
We don’t need to talk
For me to feel your love -
Hold on to me…

I’m still here
And I need you…

Look past the damage that cancer has done
I am reaching out to you with all I have inside
I’ve been lonely without you, trapped
Without anyone

Persevere through uncomfortable moments and silences
and reach right back to me…
Yes it’s me…… still me,
And I need you to see!
