Welcome to our caring bridge.
John was diagnosed with throat cancer in February.  We have kept it pretty quiet so that we would be able to talk with our daughter Izzy, who was on a 6 week mission trip, before it became known by our friends and family. It was discovered very early because of a food illness John had.  His prognosis is very good.  His treatment includes 7 weeks of radiation, along with chemo therapy.  He began his treatment on March 4, and he is doing well.  Some of the expected side effects include salivary glands and taste buds.  Beginning approximately week 3 of treatment, he will start to experience side affects of the radiation on his throat - and will experience pain with swallowing.  We appreciate your prayers for his treatment and for minimal long term side effects.   ReplyForwar
