On June 8th, John had both an endoscopy and colonoscopy after he’d had some upset stomach issues (blood present) and GERD type symptoms. After procedure, Dr. Waller immediately told us he saw cancer in the Sigmoid colon (This is the last part of the colon). Obviously, we were shocked since he’s never really been sick. We were referred to an awesome surgeon, Dr. Bardoner, who explained that the prognosis/treatment/stage would be determined after surgery to remove that entire part of the colon. The best outcome is for the cancer to be contained to that area, not spread to lymph nodes and not spread elsewhere. Dr. B said he has had additional training regarding this type of colon surgery because he took a special interest in it. If its all contained, John will be good to go after surgery. Dr. also mentioned the possible treatments if it goes differently. He led a prayer at end of our visit.♥️ To us, this was a sign that John will be fully healed from this.  
We are very encouraged by the well wishes and prayers/texts/calls we have received from our family, friends and church family at Warren Grovetown. They mean so very much! I wanted to mention that John cannot always respond to calls, texts during workday due to his job. So, if he doesn’t respond until the evening to a message or text you might send, that’s the reason.
