Welcome friends, family and associates of Kittery/York and beyond! John suffered a brain aneurysm on May 24th, which caused (temporary) paralysis of both left-side arm and leg.
Milestones to-date: - Released from ICU on June 21 - Released from Acute Care Hospital on July 23 - July 23 HOME FINALLY!! - Started HomeCare with York Hospital therapies daily (PT, ST and OT) on July 26 - Walking with Quad-cane unassisted. NEXT: - Graduating to single point cane, with assistance! - Graduating from HomeCare September 2 - Starts Out-Patient rehab back at Northeast Rehab Hospital September 9 NINE MONTHS post Aneurysm: - "Nearly" graduated from Out-Patient PT/OT - Working with a Personal Trainer who specializes in balance, strength and endurance in people with "stroke-like" symptoms - Walking without cane at home and in the office - Climbing stairs both upstairs to bed and downstairs - Sleeping in his own bed and showering independently - Almost feeding himself with his left (dominant) hand
There was a special fund established for John's medical expenses. We have had a tremendous outpouring of prayers, well-wishes, positive energy and donations to-date. Thank you.
