John’s story began in 2018 when he was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). We had previous experience with this condition as John’s mom had MDS. Her condition deteriorated to leukemia which eventually took her life. You can imagine how scared our family was.
Since 2018 John has been on outpatient treatment consisting of medication and blood transfusions. After trying three different medications and increased frequency of blood transfusions the next option was bone marrow transplant (BMT). Thus, our journey begins. Thank you for caring!
