John William Barth

April 29, 1953-July 22, 2021

The family is sad to announce that John passed away peacefully in the middle of the night with Marge by his side. We thank you for the showering of love and support you have shown us and we appreciate your continued prayers. Service information will be provided soon.  The last month of John's life was spent with his family telling jokes, singing, and just enjoying one another.  In this sad moment there was so much beauty to reflect on. Thank you again for all the support, this has been a humbling experience.

Hello family and friends,

As you may know by now, John was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer back in April. After a tough fight and a few rounds of chemotherapy, John is now being transitioned to hospice care at home.

If you know John, it should come as no surprise to hear about what a popular guy he is. Between his large and loving family, his supportive church community, and the innumerous friendships he and his wife Marge have developed throughout their many years living and raising their boys in Elk River, it has been a challenge to keep everyone who cares about John and Marge sufficiently up to date.

We are hoping this site will help ease some of that burden and help us coordinate tangible steps for how to support John and his family at this challenging time. What the family is most hoping for right now is for you to help share your stories and memories of John. We know what an impact he has had on people and it is so special to hear about that. Please feel free to upload your own favorite John moments in the "Well Wishes" tab.

We thank you all for your patience, kindness, well-wishes, thoughts, and especially prayers at this time.
