Feb 7th 2017: John had been feeling light headed and week ..first thought it was bout with the flu and then when it continued I urged him to go to doctor and at least get his meds checked..We saw an amazing NP and she told me not to worry by the end of day she would know what was going on .The ran his labs 11:30 am and at 5 pm she said she had made a personal phone call and got him an appointment with the best Hematologist in the state. Yesterday we saw him at 10am and we were with him until he completed a bone marrow biopsy at 2:30 pm. And by 5pm we got word he had Acute Myeloid Leukemia .The doctor said treatment would have to begin no later than Friday unless second path report was different. They called us today with second path stating John has rare subtype of AML ..Good /news bad news The first stage of illness is very dangerous because of bleeding and they had not done a lab for protein coagulation so he was to immediately get to the hospital and his room would be waiting so that's where we are. St. Francis South room 406T his phone number 317 528 3067.Will up date as soon as doctor arrives and tell us the next step of our journey.
