On March 4th, Joey sustained a head injury during a basketball game.  After visiting the ER that day, Joey was diagnosed with a concussion and we began, what we thought would be your typical 7-10 day full recovery plan.  Since the diagnosis, Joey has experienced a constant headache, extreme light and sound sensitivity and has been out of school and all activity for the past 3 weeks.  After being referred to pediatric neurology, they now think that Joey's injury to his brain, has triggered a migraine like response.   The positive news is that all of his neurological testing has come out great so we are hopeful that Joey will get through this and back to his normal smiley fun self.  We are working with his team of providers and nurses to try and get his brain to "re-set" to be able to get these dreadful symptoms to subside.  We will continue to update here as we know more and hope that this will be short-lived.  Please keep Joey in your thoughts and prayers!
