Joey Torres Life with Joey Torres

Joey's story?! We don't have that kind of time or the clinical expertise to tell you what his story is, but here's the play by play thus far for "the Joseph, the Philadelphinator, and so many more nicknames"

Joey was admitted to Swedish Hospital First Hill on Nov. 15 with liver and kidney failure. Since being admitted, Joey has kept us on the edge of our seats in typical football fashion - he's gained some yardage and lost some yardage.

Getting any type of timeline or bigger picture prognosis is frustratingly not possible right now. Priorities are to stop bleeding/make sure it has stopped, then focus on the liver, then paint the future picture (which is likely to rely on a transplant) but at this point in time, he's in his own end zone and it's still the first down.

It's overwhelming how much love and support that is pouring in. Joey has touched a lot of people in his short 34 years and it's not surprising that he's made a place in so many people's hearts being the truly unique guy he is.

I'm closing all of my posts the same way - if you're the praying type, pray; if you're not, put on your best Mickey voice and talk to him like Rocky. The hardest thing for me has been to accept that this isn't anyone's fault; addiction is a disease all it's own and untreated, that is what got him here. If you need help, get it now don't wait because you don't have insurance or because you think you can do it on your own.

We've started a go fund me for Joey's medical costs but there are many more ways to contribute
