We created this page to keep everyone informed in 1 central page....

Joey started doctoring for a suspected sinus infection 2 weeks ago. He had a follow up appointment on May 8th which included a chest xray. The chest xray showed he had an enlarged heart and pneumonia. Mom had him into the St. CLOUD urgency center Friday night (May 12th) because his breathing was very labored. They changed his antibiotic and gave him a shot to help him. Fast forward through the weekend to Monday... Dad noticed around lunch time that Joey seemed very weak and was having a hard time walking. After talking with mom he was taken to the St. CLOUD ER. Joey was in obvious pain and complained that his head hurt. The team at the ER performed many tests and found his heart only functioning at 5-10% of what it should be. They also found a clot in his left ventricle and an ASD (hole) in his heart. An angiogram was performed with no blockage found. :) Joeys heart rate was very high and breathing very labored. They decided to intubate (breathing tube) and sedate Joey to help his heart rest. The cardiologist team in st cloud was absolutely amazing in helping Joey. His heart rate did come down with the help of the vent. Ultimately the team there decided they really had no "safety net" if Joey crashed and recommended he be transferred to the University of Mn hospital. Joey got an ambulance ride down and they have him stabilized here now. They are going to perform more tests and try to get him off the vent.

Thank you all for the calls, texts and messages to us all. Joey has a long road ahead and will continue to need thoughts and prayers.
