JoEllen Tharrington

This is Lilly Bug. This is a baby girl born with Cerebral Palsy, without a gag reflex. Addicted to heroin. This little baby has survived more in her first month of life than many of us, thankfully, ever will face.

In the next few weeks she will need a series of complex surgeries: a feeding tube inserted in her stomach, surgery to hopefully correct her gag reflex, so she won't choke, and finally a tracheotomy.

Lilly is currently In CHOP, the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Her grandma is fighting for custody. The struggle includes, but is not limited to things like worrying about having gas money for the grandmothers trips from Wilkes Barre to Philly, to hold Lilly.

Then there are diaper and the million other things a baby needs, let alone many more surgeries and time spent with medical professionals.

I'm not sure how much we can do to ease this little girls pain or her grandma's fears, but maybe we can make their lives a little bit easier?
