Joel was first diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer in May 1998.  Some may be surprised to realize that Joel's cancer has been terminal since.  Each day has been a blessing considering the poor prognosis that he was first given nearly 19 years ago.  At that time, there was very real doubt about whether he would have the opportunity to witness the graduation of our youngest son, Roger; marriage of any of our children; or the births of our grandchildren.  19 years later, here we are.  After three years of four different chemo regimens, he has reached the end of the road.  The Lord has met us at every turn on this difficult journey.
