Joe Legnard

This site is dedicated to Joe Legnard during his cancer journey.  Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Joe felt happy and healthy and was very active up until the first week in August when he began to feel ill and with both headaches and toothache.  He had both issues cared for but continued to not feel himself.  On August 27 Joe was “found down”, as he and his close friends now joke, by one of his neighbors and was taken to the hospital where it was discovered that he had some sort of widely metastatic cancer.  Since that day he has undergone many tests, biopsy and even tumor resection.  Joe has been diagnosed with a very rare non-small cell lung cancer.   He will be undergoing outpatient treatment to include both radiation and chemotherapy.

Joe is doing well and surrounded by family and friends.   He continues to have a positive attitude while joking and making others smile. To keep Joe’s broad community informed, we are using this site to keep family and friends updated in one place.

This is a good place to stay updated on his journey and send him well wishes. Joe appreciates all of your support and words of hope and encouragement along with positive thoughts and prayers.  If you have photos to share, please do so by sending them to sam_anderson@comcast.net to be posted here.

At this time Joe does not have specific needs, but that may change over time. Please monitor Caring Bridge if you are interested in providing support for Joe as needs arise.
