Well we are "patiently" impatiently waiting on the big day Tues, May 9th.  It's been a hard few weeks but God has been gracious.  In fact, Joe has been doing much better this week than the previous 2 weeks and the only thing we can figure out is more people have been coming by and praying - almost daily.  He's even slept good the last 3 nights. 


 We will be going over to the hospital Monday afternoon to spend the night as it has a "hotel" on the 9th floor.  That way I don't have to drive Joe over the morning of the surgery in the hectic Dallas rush hour traffic - that's not good on anyone's nerves!!  Then he will just ride the elevator downstairs to check-in at 8 am and have surgery by 10 am.  It will be a 5-6 hour surgery plus recovery time so it will be sometime late afternoon or evening before he is in a room.  He will be operated on and staying at Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Lane Dallas, TX 75231   214-345-6789. We've been told he will be in a room on 4th Floor, Hammons wing.  
Prayer Requests are for: 1. God's guiding the hands of the surgeons, (3 of them)and all his surgical team, 2.Safety and protection of his spinal cord, nerves and all of the areas being operated on, 3. His pain level in his recovery as he can't take morphine or codien or any of the drugs used for pain killers.  4. A fast recovery and that all of his body will be working properly again after this operation (including his intestines - He says that is the worst part of these surgeries is trying to get his system working after all the anesthesia  5. For me and all his nurses to be able to help him through this time at the hospital. 6. To be able to rest and sleep at the hospital and after he comes home.  7. That God would get the glory for his recovery or that HE would supernaturally do a miracle and heal him. 8. And that this is his Final surgery to fix his vertebrae and spine.
