On October 25, 2017, Joe was found unresponsive at home.  After arriving at the hospital, he was diagnosed with a spontaneous hemorrhage on the left side of his brain.  A trial surgery to remove the blood on his brain, called The Enrich Trial,  was performed the following afternoon to relieve the pressure.  A brain scan on Friday, October 27, indicated that there was not any additional bleeding.

Joe remains in ICU.  The doctors are hopeful that he will be able to move into a different unit and then into  a rehabilitation facility.  The amount of time that Joe will spend in rehab is unknown at this time.
