Joe Call

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated on Joe's progress as well as journal how amazing our Lord Jesus Christ has carried us through this difficult time. To give a little back ground, Last July Joe was experiencing a little pain in his back flank area.  Thinking this was due to a pulled muscle, he slowed up on his exercising, however after the pain seemed to persist, Joe went to his general practitioner at  the end of January this year 2017 for a check up. Joe had full blood work, chest X-ray and ultrasound. All his tests showed he was in perfect health and of course that was great news. Fast forward to April 2017 and he returned to the doctor because he was having back pain.  He was instructed to take Aleve, and go to a physical therapist. He also decided he would try a chiropractor.  Still his pain persisted so after my (Judi's) urging he decided to go to a orthopedic surgeon who ordered an MRI.  We were thinking it was a pinched nerve. We received the results from the MRI on June 6th and we were in shock to find out that the MRI indicated lesions on the bone that were consistent with cancer. At that point we were instructed to see an oncologist for further diagnosis. The oncologist confirmed our worst fears and Joe does in fact have cancer....Lung cancer!   Despite this devastating news, we are amazed how the Lord has wrapped His loving arms around us and given us His Word to sustain us through this trial.  We are so humbled and touched by the outpouring of love and prayers of our friends and family.  The LORD IS GOOD and he will, in fact work this out for His good (Romans 8:28)  and He will be glorified through this!  We are confident with the healing touch of our Lord Jesus, as well as, new advances in cancer treatment, Joe will live a long life.  One of our scripture verses that we are holding close is Psalm 91.  I urge any of you reading this to get your Bible and read this wonderful Psalm...Pray this Psalm over my sweet man Joe and also pray it over each of you and your family members. We are confident of this ..."The Lord says "I will rescue those who love me and I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer. I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue them and honor them. I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation. " Psalm 91:14-15
