Welcome to our CaringBridge site.  We've created it to keep friends and family updated about Joe's battle with brain cancer.  We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this difficult time.  Joe's journey began with a massive brain hemorrhage while we were working in our backyard on Labor Day weekend in 2006, followed by surgery, six weeks of radiation, four years of chemotherapy, and regular MRI scans (2 - 6 times per year).  His scans in late 2015 detected another tumor, prompting brain surgery #2 in January 2016, re-radiation, and additional chemotherapy.  As many of you know, this horrible disease has an average survival rate of under two years, but Joe miraculously defied those odds in 2006...we pray he will continue to do so this time.  We will add journal entries to this site when we have new information to share.  --Amy and Joe
