Joan Lawson

My journey began in August when I returned home from a river cruise vacation in Europe.  Though I had enjoyed the trip, I had experienced more fatigue than was usual.  Realizing something was wrong, I reached out to my doctors.  finally, after two weeks of searching for answers, a chest x-ray revealed fluid in both lungs.  The diagnosis turned out to be metastatic breast cancer.  My original breast cancer was 30 years ago, so this recurrence was a surprise.

The treatment protocol decided on by my doctors is a 28-day-cycle of chemo infusion administered every Tuesday for 3 weeks and then one week off.  They plan to do this for approximately 6 months.

I completed my second treatment today.  So far, I am feeling pretty well.  I have received many cards and phone calls expressing kind thoughts and prayers.  Thank you all for the wonderful expressions of love.
