Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Joan is a breast cancer survivor. During the nine years leading up to her husband Chuck’s death in August 2018 she cared for him lovingly and was a fierce advocate on his behalf.

Around two weeks ago Joan experienced feelings of light headedness and almost fainting and went to the emergency room. She was admitted and spent almost a week in the hospital while they ran tests. The result is that her cancer has returned and has metastasized in her bone and bone marrow. Her doctors say that it is quite treatable and have started her on chemo via two pills a day which will be followed up with other treatments. Not surprisingly this has affected her red blood count and her anemia has persisted and is making her feel weak. Her doctors say that it may be 45 days to 60 days before she is fully back on her feet.

Her friends in Dallas are rallying to her support and are organizing regular visits, home care and getting the outreach minister at her church involved.

We will keep you updated on her condition and progress on this website.
