Jonah was born 12/27/2016 weighing 6 lbs 1 oz. He had a positive screen for one gene for Cystic Fibrosis both before and immediately after birth. Genetic counselors described him as a "carrier of CF." Soon after he was born he began losing weight instead of gaining the way most newborns would. On January 11, 2017 he was seen for the first time in the Cystic Fibrosis clinic (part of the U of M Discovery clinic). He began taking enzymes with each meal that day and has been doing so ever since. A few weeks later we were given an official diagnosis of Cystic Fibrosis when he had a positive sweat chloride test. While the diagnosis was a surprise, we believe that he is healed, healthy and whole in Jesus' Name. Prayer is most appreciated as are well wishes and happy thoughts. James 1:2-6 says " 2 My brothers and sisters, when you have many kinds of troubles, you should be full of joy, 3 because you know that these troubles test your faith, and this will give you patience. 4 Let your patience show itself perfectly in what you do. Then you will be perfect and complete and will have everything you need. 5 But if any of you needs wisdom, you should ask God for it. He is generous to everyone and will give you wisdom without criticizing you. 6 But when you ask God, you must believe and not doubt. Anyone who doubts is like a wave in the sea, blown up and down by the wind."
