This is a difficult message to write. I spent this week at Mayo in Rochester to evaluate a persistent cough. After being poked and prodded ,and undergoing tests not in the range of pleasant, this is what they found.
Following is part of the conversation with my provider. (I spoke with Mr. Willmore on the phone today. During workup for globus and cough it was found to have a mass in the distal esophagus. Unfortunately this shows at least intramucosal moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma in a background of focal specialized Barrett's mucosa and high-grade dysplasia.) In terms I understand I have cancer of the esophagus. I will be going through more tests to determine the stage of the cancer.
