Jim Skjonsby

Welcome to Jim Skjonsby's CaringBridge website to keep family and friends updated about his treatment and recovery from tongue cancer.  He will have surgery to remove all of the cancer on his tongue and lymph nodes by a Mayo surgeon at St. Mary's hospital in Rochester, MN on Friday, July 14th. He will be in the hospital a minimum of 5 days and in mid-August a 6 week course of radiation will begin.  A trach and a feeding tube will support him while he goes through treatment. The plan is for Jim to complete his radiation in early October to prepare for celebrating life and the holidays. This past weekend he told his grandsons,  "I plan to attend your college graduations and don't make it 10 years from now." Let's help him keep his sense of humor and heal.
