Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Today this is Kimi writing!

Jim  (Dad) was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer after being told he was clear and could wait 3 years between colonoscopies.  Well within one year he went from cancer free to Stage 4 Colon Cancer that has metastasized to his liver and lymph nodes (and beyond).

We are over the shock (him too) and have moved from denial into "what now?".    Lots of changing emotions.

Mom and dad sold their RV and have moved up here to Colorado to live with Flint and I.   We will all be moving to a new home together in February 2022 that better fits us all and has all the living space on one floor.

Mom can write more on the above and what she and dad are going through.

Bottom line is that radiation and surgery are no longer an option as it has progressed too far.

He starts aggressive chemo on Tuesday, November 9th and will have to go in every 15 days.  He is in terrible pain...all the time but handles it with his usual humor and bad dad jokes.

Jimmy came up for a last minute visit from Arizona to hang out with mom and dad on Tuesday and left today.  It was so good to have him here.  Listening to him and dad talk and laugh was healing.  Mom was in her happy place having her family all in one place.

Today, November 5th,  he went in to get his port inserted surgically.  All went well!  He was in good humor and making everyone laugh.  He named his port, "Bummer" because it's a bummer.  HA!

His next procedure is Tuesday where he starts aggressive Chemo all day long, every other Tuesday.   None of us know what to expect and are holding firm to the hem of Jesus's robe.

I'm making sure mom gets out and is taking care of her needs so she can be strong for dad.

Love to all!

Jim, Marci, Kimi and Jimmy
