Tuesday, December 27, Jim slipped and fell on the ice, hitting his head. After some signs and symptoms Wednesday evening of a larger problem, he sought medical attention at the nearby hospital in Oakes. Doctors there determined he needed a CT scan to rule out any possible bleeding, as he is on blood thinning medication. But their machine was down, so he was transported via ground ambulance to Sanford Health in Fargo. Upon arrival his condition deteriorated fast and the doctors made the call to do emergency surgery. Jim is in critical, but stable condition with a right side bone flap and is in a medically induced coma. He a has long road to recovery, but if you know Jim aka Wally, with his strength and orneriness, he will be back on his feet in no time, doing all the things he loves from whittling, bee keeping, chicken farming and being the best husband, father, grandfather and friend he can.
We are staying positive and placing our faith and trust in God's hands. Thank you so much for caring and for your thoughts & prayers.
