I was hospitalized for pneumonia mid-December 2014, just before Christmas. After a week of hospitalization they determined on New Years Eve that it wasn't really pneumonia but lung cancer. Very shocking news as I am a non-smoker, relatively young at 52, and in good health. Since then all of my family went to work to get me admitted as a patient at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. One of the finest institutions in the world for cancer care and treatment. I am now a patient there and the finest people in the field of oncology are helping me with my new journey as a cancer patient. I don't know where this will lead me but I know Life is a precious gift from God, I cherish it, and will do everything possible to fight this disease and preserve mine until one day He calls me home, as all of us will be. I am doing great right now (1/14/15) and my treatment plan will begin next week. I am both excited and nervous, but looking forward to doing something positive to fight this.

Prayer, comfort, and support from my family, sisters and brothers on both sides of our families, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, neighbors, my boss, & our co-workers has been beyond belief. I hope this tool keeps you informed and allows me to communicate how well I am doing. God Bless all of you for caring! You are all in my heart... everyday.
