Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

In May of 2017 Jim Marinelli was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. His diagnosis came after months of not feeling like himself and a series of tests. After his diagnosis our family jumped into aggressively fighting this horrible disease. Jim has been getting chemotherapy every 2 weeks for the past 15 months. At first we had amazing success with his chemo regimen, his cancer decreased drastically in size and we were able to minimize his symptoms with the help of his amazing team at Dana Farber. In the summer of 2018 Jim hadn’t been feeling well and we got news that his chemo regimen wasn’t working anymore. We moved on to the next line of action - 2 new chemotherapy drugs that his cancer hadn’t seen before. With that chemo came new struggles, set backs and symptoms that have been really hard on everyone. When that regiment stopped working we moved onto option 3, a therapy he had seen before but we stopped because of side effects. On April 25 we got the news that this therapy was now no longer working. Our only options now are clinical trials which we hope to start soon.

What has helped us through this incredibly trying time is the support we have from our family and friends so we want to say thank you. While it’s hard for us to talk about and there’s times we want to keep to ourselves we know a lot of people are on this journey with us and we are so thankful for everyone’s constant support. And because of that we have started this site to share updates. It has become really difficult to send individual messages to everyone so moving forward we will be sharing things here and we ask that you come to this site for updates.
