JIMMY FARRIS

Thank you for visiting.  Jimmy was diagnosed with stage 4 aggressive small cell lung cancer with METS in April of this year, after surviving a battle with stage 4 esophageal cancer several years ago.  As soon as he was diagnosed, this time, we knew it would be an extremely tough road.  He began chemotherapy and underwent 4 rounds of treatments.  He then did the recommended radiation treatments to his brain.  About 2 weeks later we ended up having to send him back to the hospital by ambulance.  He had developed pneumonia.  Ultimately, he decided he wanted to stop fighting this horrible disease and go back home to spend the rest of his time with comfort measures and loved ones.  He is now at his house with Hospice care, and comfort measures being taken.  Of course we appreciate all of the love and support from his, and our, family and friends.  Luckily, he has been very good at letting us know his wishes, and has requested to be cremated and his urn buried with his parents.  I am working on making sure his wishes are carried out, just as he wants.  This has been a very difficult time for him and our family.  It will be for some time to come, but I want to also thank and honor his mate, Debbie, for all she has sacrificed and done to be there and take care of Jimmy through all of this.  She has had to stay home and stop working to be there day in and day out, so I know how tough it must be in every way.  When you love someone, it is so very difficult to watch the effects of this horrible disease process.   She has given him all the love she has to give, and the opportunity to go home to enjoy his last moments.  Thank you all for your love and support!
