Hello. On Monday, October 30, 2017, Sandi and Jim were involved in a car accident.  Jim was taken to the ER because he was in pain. Sandi road along because their car was not drivable (assuming it's totaled).

At the ER, it was determined that the artery attached to the top part of his left kidney became detached.  They wanted to keep him overnight, to make sure the artery didn't start bleeding.  They moved him to ICU, so he could be monitored closely.

Tuesday morning, they said they wanted to keep Jim one more night, for observation.  He was moved to a regular room.  The whiteboard listed 1-2 days with a possible discharge date of 11/2.

Today is 11/2/17 and Jim is still in the hospital.  He had an x-ray done and it showed he was pretty 'gassy', which was causing his pain.  He's been pretty sleepy/groggy and not getting up to walk around, which doesn't help with getting rid of the excess gas.  He hasn't had much of an appetite.

Sandi and I (Debbie) went up to the hospital at 4 pm today.  Jim took two bites of a burger for lunch today, so that's good.  For dinner, he had a few bites of mashed potatoes, beef roast and apple crisp.  That's the most he has had to eat since being admitted.

Jim was more talkative today, but just couldn't seem to stay awake.

Jim started with Physical Therapy and Occupational therapy yesterday.  PT said that Jim may need to head to a rehab center for 2 - 4 eeks, dependin gon his progress.

Sandi was seen at the ER on Monday...after a little coaxing...She has a lot of bruising and is sore all over.   Sandi's leg is pretty swollen and she's still in a lot of pain.   She will be contacting her primary doctor tomorrow for a follow-up.

Prayers for healthy healing for Jim and Sandi is greatly appreciated!
