Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
In late April I started feeling really tired.  May 15 I went to the doctor and told him I thought I had a Sinus infection and about how I had no energy.  I did have a Sinus infection, but the doctor wanted to do some blood work.  The results showed that my blood calcium was really high.  He called me back to run the test again and to test my thyroid.  Blood calcium was still high and the thyroid test was negative.  99% of the time when you have high blood calcium it's tied to the thyroid.  He sent me to a gland specialist ...which led to a CT scan...which led to a report of lesions on my liver.   I was then sent to a cancer doctor...which led to a biopsy...which led to the report that I have cancer.   The mystery is still where's the origin of the cancer.  Blood marker tests and Pet Scan has only showed cancer in the liver.  So I'm listed as having cancer from an unknown origin which has metastasized in my liver.  I had no signs of any kind of issue other than the high calcium.  I had been for my annual physical in March.   I'm now going to UT Southwestern.  I've had a port installed and ready for chemo.
