On December 24, 2020 Jim was confirmed to have pancreatic cancer stage 4. Preliminary tests in weeks prior had pointed to this diagnosis, but it was still a huge blow to our family, especially with the slim survival statistics for PC at this stage. Right after the 24th, we did everything we could to research doctors, treatments, and alternatives/clinical trials, and feel lucky to be introduced to doctors at UCI Medical, which is a teaching/research hospital in Orange County. Still, we know this will be a battle, and as we go through this we will update here on his fight. 2021 will be a different year for us, and treatment is scheduled starting approximately mid-January 2021. We are incredibly thankful for the outpouring of love, prayers and well wishes we have received from family and friends and it means everything to us that we can draw on this for strength in this walk. We are using this site to keep family and friends updated in one place, and we look forward to boldly walking through Jim's journey with you.
