We start this story with tremendous gratitude for the outpouring of love we not only are hearing but feeling. We want to thank everyone for taking time to not only read this post and all those to come and when doing so continuing to keep Jim and our family in your thoughts and prayers. On Sunday, November 11th our family was given a challenge to overcome together with your help. While in Maui Jim went into the ocean to rinse the sand off of himself before leaving for the day. Jake and Roger were out with him in the water and realized very soon Jim was unresponsive in the water, and was able to bring him back to shore safely. After Jakes expertise and knowledge along with the local medical teams were able to airlift him to Honolulu. &nbsp;He was able to undergo surgery on Monday, November 12th to address his C5-C6 spinal fracture. As of today Tuesday, November 13th, Jim is responding to verbal commands but does not have any feeling in his lower extremities. Our family will continue to be by his side, preparing for the long road to recovery ahead. We ask from you to respect our families privacy during this difficult time. Updates will be provided through this website. Our family is currently in Hawaii for Andrea’s wedding and Blake and Andrea have decided to postpone their wedding until Jim can be a part of their special day.
