In September 2019, Jim was informed that he went into stage 5 kidney failure. After 10 months of testing, The Christ Hospital transplant team in
Cincinnati placed him on the National transplant registry. We are currently looking for a living donor which could extend his life by 12-20 years. Several family members and friends have been tested to see if they are a match, but so far there are no matches. In the meantime, he could be called at any time if a cadaver match is found. Jim's kidney doctor is hoping that a transplant can happen before he needs dialysis, since dialysis is very hard on a person's internal organs, etc.
