Dad is going into surgery today, March 8, around 3 p.m. for a partial hip replacement. He fell (again), last week in the bathroom when his walker got tripped up. The initial trip to the emergency room only indicated he had a gash on the back of his head, which was patched up without further damage. However, he had also broken his hip, which precipitated a second trip by ambulance to the emergency room. He has been in the hospital for a few days waiting out an infection before he was okayed for surgery. We just found out there is an opening today, so please appreciate the brevity of this. We will update everybody here and provide more details as we go along. All prayers, positive thoughts and energy are welcome and needed for both mom and dad.
